Reid, Vick OK; Cox Misses Practice
Les Bowen, Daily News Staff Writer
Eagles coach Andy Reid said Wednesday he spoke with quarterback Michael Vick about Reid's Monday comments, in which Reid seemed less than definitive about Vick's future as the starter.
Vick "doesn't care about all that," Reid said. Reid emphasized Wednesday that "Michael is the quarterback."
“Well, it was the way it was interpreted,” Reid said. “That’s not what I had in mind. Derek [Eagles spokesnman Derek Boyko] explained to me how it was interpreted, and so, I’ve talked to Mike, [and] made sure I mentioned it on my radio show. You guys are very good at what you do, so I [wanted to] make sure we clarify it. Bad semantics there.”
The QB later agreed that the remarks didn't bother him; he said his focus is on preparing for the Giants this weekend.
"We spoke about it. But it wasn't anything serious," Vick said. "We have to look forward to this week, we have to get ready for this game."
Vick said his problem with turnovers -- nine in three games -- is "something I know I can get corrected."
Asked if he worried about job security, Vick said "not at all," because, he reiterated, "I know it can be corrected ... That's what I'm focused on."
"We had no trouble with blitz recognition" Sunday at Arizona, Vick said. "Everything is good with our offense. Everything is in sync, everything is intact. We just gotta get better. We eliminate the turnovers and start fast, we can give ourselves a [better] chance to win the games."

Jeremy Maclin (hip) practiced Wednesday and said he expects to play Sunday. DT Fletcher Cox, still bothered by the migraine that hampered him in Arizona, did not practice, though Reid did not mention that possibility when he ran down the injuries before practice. Starting LT King Dunlap (hamstring) sat out. Ditto LB Akeem Jordan, also bothered by a hammy, and LS Jon Dorenbos (high ankle sprain).

Several Eagles said they were happy to hear that the lockout of NFL referees might be ending.
Linebacker Jamar Chaney was asked if, when he saw the controversial ending of the Seahawks-packers game Monday night, he thought the fallout from that mess would end the impasse.
"I was hoping that would end it," Chaneys said. "It's sad that it had to happen to the Packers like that, because one game can keep you out of the playoffs ... It's just good that we can get the refs back to what they do best -- calling games -- and we can get back to what we do best, not worrying about that and just playing ball."
Running back LeSean McCoy said he would like to see a resolution, but until an agreement is announced, "I'm not going to get my hopes up."

Those Neighbors are not generally the sharpest knifes in the drawer.... FetchDixon- I love when people comment about others not being smart and can't even pluralize knife correctly. When you have more than one knife, they are KNIVES. NOT knifes.

He should be worried about his job security! Nick Foles here we come! birds748
Even the Drudge Report beat this site in reporting the NFL and the refs have a deal. NYC - Philly
He should be worried about his health, because I think Andy and Marty are trying to get him killed. lostInPhilly
Vick is an old washed up, banged up fraud who is at the BOTTOM of all NFL QB ratings...even the rookie QB RG111, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson are BETTER than Vick....Nick Foles is too...DUMP VICK..START NICK phil500- All that and we are still two and one. Imagine if he REALLY played bad.
In case you didnt get it, that was sarcasm.
Btw, 2 out of 3 extrapolated out will make the playoffs genius. Desperado215
Get r done Mike!
You're being paid like a top QB and not for bottom of the league stats. Get rid of the ball and run every now and then to keep D honest.
We need the 2010 Vick and not the 2011 or 2012 version we've been seeing! connorjr

Mike, look out for the Blitz by calling runs or screens and you will be alright. J5player
This offense simply does not value the run game until the starter goes down with an injury. Only way we won't see 60 passes per game is if Foles is ever forced into action. Can we please run the offense Jeff Garcia ran??? Vick definitely can get it done, but while he's in a slump, alter the play-calling just a tad. KNuff
Why did Reid make the comments in the first place? Lets Eat
This will be a big test for Eagles and in particular their offensive line. If Vick can get protection from the Giant passs rush and that is a big if, the Giant secondary can be exploited. If the Giant pass rush overwhelms the offensive line the Eagles and Vick will be in for a long night. Eagles need to establish the run early to take edge off Giant pass rush. bikedoc
