FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – I spent about 20 minutes with former Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel this morning at the Atlanta Falcons’ training facility. I’ll be writing about his thoughts on his new team and his old one later, but wanted to relay his reaction to the death of Garrett Reid now.
Samuel, 31, has four children of his own, three daughters and a son, A.J.
"I can’t imagine what he’s going through right now,’’ Samuel said. "This is so sad. I sent Andy a text as soon as I heard. My heart goes out to him and his family and all of Eagle Nation. They’re still a part of my family. It hit me in my heart. God, that’s a tough situation. I’m praying for the family and the Eagles organization.’’
