Johnson Caused Vick 'A Tad Bit of Doubt'

Cornerback Eric Allen and the late Jim Johnson, the Eagles' former defensive coordinator, will be inducted into the Eagles' Honor Roll Sunday night. Michael Vick wasn't an Eagle during Johnson's tenure here, which started when Andy Reid was hired in 1999 and ended early in 2009, but Vick has vivid memories of Johnson, nonetheless.

"I can't think of another defensive coordinator I went against that I actually went into the game thinking it was going to be one hell of a game," Vick said today, as the Birds wrapped up preparations for their Sunday night game against the Cowboys. "On my end, I had to be on my Ps and Qs and didn't know what to expect. I knew I was going to get blitzes from everywhere, people walking around.

"He was probably the only defensive coordinator -- I can honestly say this, because I've played against some good ones and I've played great against them -- probably the only defensive coordinator I ever faced and had ... a tad bit of doubt in my abilities. It speaks volumes, but it's the truth ... He did things you'd never seen before."

Vick's Falcons lost playoff games to the Eagles and Johnson following the 2002 and 2004 seasons, the latter game representing the only NFC Championship Game victory of the Andy Reid era.

No injured player was listed as less than "probable" as the Eagles wrapped up their week of practice. And Reid said the only decision would be whether to bring Brandon Graham onto the roster this week; Graham, eligible to come off the PUP list sometime in a three-week window that started Monday, is recovered from knee surgery. But it seems unlikely that Graham is game-ready just yet; he just started practicing Jim Washburn's techniques.

Reid said Graham's Thursday practice was better than Wednesday's. If the Eagles activate Graham, they have to do so by 4 p.m. Saturday, and somebody has to come off the 53-man roster.
