Anonymous tips have led to the arrest of two men who were allegedly involved in an assault, on Chestnut Street near Front, in Old City, which left a 27-year-old man unconscious in late April.

Police announced Wednesday that Salvatore Piccolo, 20, and Tracy Biondo were arrested and will face aggravated-assault charges, along with two other men who were involved. 

On May 10, police arrested Michael Russo, 21, and Edward Costello, 19 in connection with the assault.

A West Oak Lane man was critically injured this morning after his estranged, pregnant girlfriend allegedly stabbed him during an argument.

The victim, 20, remains at Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition after surgery, police said. His ex attacked him about 11:30 a.m. at his rowhome on Georgian Road near Ogontz Avenue and then fled with the estranged couple's older child, who neighbors said was about 9 months old. Police are searching for her. It's unclear what sparked the argument.

Three people were seriously injured this morning when a car fleeing police hit a tree and two parked cars on Arch Street near 18th, police said.

The 2010 black Honda wrecked just after 5:30 a.m., police spokeswoman Officer Christine O'Brien said. The driver, a 20-year-old woman, and a backseat passenger, whose age and identity are unknown, remain in critical condition at Hahnemann University Hospital, O'Brien said. A front-seat passenger, 18, remains in stable condition at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Police are seeking the gunman who shot a Logan teenager to death last night in East Germantown.

Kylif Woods, 18, of Lindley Avenue near 12th Street, was shot multiple times in the torso just before 11 p.m. on Belfield Avenue near Walnut Lane, police spokeswoman Officer Christine O'Brien said. Woods lurched around the corner to Cosgrove Street, where he collapsed. He died at 11:17 p.m. at Albert Einstein Medical Center, O'Brien said.

Police reported no motive or suspects.

A man who police said was in his 20s was shot and killed in East Germantown about 11 Tuesday night.

The man was shot multiple times in the abdomen, police said, and died about 20 minutes later.

Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said the man was likely shot on Belfield Avenue, and ran to the street's intersection with Cosgrove Street, where officials found him.

A pizza deliveryman was robbed by a thug who lured him to a bad address in Wynnefield earlier tonight. 

Police said the victim was called to Country Club Road near Mimi Circle shortly after 10 p.m. He arrived and was almost immediately held up at gunpoint by black man in his 20s who was clad in all dark clothing.

The robber fled on foot with the deliveryman’s cash. The deliveryman was not injured.  Tipsters can contact Southwest Detectives at 215-686-3183.

Police are searching for a second suspect in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Norh Philadelphia where a store clerk was shot and killed May 26.

Officials identified the second suspect as Marvell Hargrove, a 17-year-old whom police said lives on 28th Street near York in North Philadelphia. Officials said he is about 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

Police said the teen is known to frequent the area of Ridge Avenue around 25th Street — near the home of Quasheam Richburg, whom police are also seeking in connection with the robbery and shooting.

A man who tried to rape a woman on the streets of Hunting Park this morning ended up in the hospital himself when his intended victim fought back with a vengeance.

Around 2:25 a.m., the 43-year-old man tried to rape a 19-year-old woman on 9th Street near Lycoming, according to police.

But it was the man who got the surprise when the woman pulled out an unknown instrument and stabbed him twice in the stomach and once above the left eye, police said.
