Police have released surveillance video in an effort to find who killed Porfirio Nunez, Johana 'Carmen' Nunez and Lina Sanchez inside the Lorena's Grocery Store on Sept. 6.

At a news conference at the West Philly store yesterday, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said the killings were “one of the most heinous crimes” to take place in Philadelphia in “quite some time.” He said police are following leads but need more help from the public.

The Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

A man was hospitalized after being stabbed during an attempted armed robbery at a Wawa in the Castor section of Northeast Philadelphia Friday afternoon, police said.

Four teenagers tried robbing the store on Tyson Street near Castor Avenue around 5:45 p.m., and stabbed a man in the stomach, police said.

It was not immediately clear if the victim is a store clerk, and police said the suspects did not take any money or merchandise from the store.

The Philadelphia Safety Network, in partnership with the police department, is offering ShopRite gift cards valued at $100 each to neighbors who turn in a gun during the Goods for Guns exchange Saturday.

Participants are invited to exchange their unwanted guns for gift cards at the Lonnie Young Recreation Center, on Chelten Avenue near Ardleigh Street, in East Germantown.

Guns will also be collected at the Myers Recreation Center, on 58th Street near Kingsessing Avenue.

Police are searching for three men in connection with a string of armed robberies Thursday morning in Southwest Philadelphia and Darby.

Around 2:30 a.m., a man walked to the drive through window of a McDonald’s on Woodland Avenue near 60th Street and pointed a gun at an employee.  

The employee handed the man $58 in cash, and he ran south from the restaurant on 60th Street, police said.

A 28-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot four times on Auburn Street near Frankford Avenue in Kensington Thursday evening, police said.

The man parked his car and was walking along Auburn Street when an unidentified man walked up and began shooting, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The victim was shot once in his chest, once in his abdomen and twice in his legs. Police rushed him to Temple University Hospital.

Cops are searching for two teenage boys who were caught on camera assaulting an elderly man for no apparent reason Wednesday afternoon in Olney.  

Around 3:10 p.m., an unidentified man was walking along Chelten Avenue near 4th Street when the boys walked up behind him.

They punched him in his head and the man fell to the ground. Police said he suffered serious injuries to his head, face and jaw and was taken to the Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Cops are searching for a knife-wielding bandit who robbed an Enterprise Rent a Car in Germantown Monday.

Around 12:15 p.m., the man walked into the building on Chelten Avenue near Wayne Avenue asking about a rental car, police said.

The man walked out, then came back in minutes later armed with a knife. He ordered the employees to the floor and demanded money.
