A man shot in the abdomen in West Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon was able to stagger half a block before he collapsed on the street and was rushed to the hospital.

Police said the 23-year-old victim was sitting in a brown Jeep Cherokee on Arch Street near 56th at 2:30 p.m. when he was shot once. He left the vehicle and made it about half a block down Frazier Street toward Market before collapsing.

Medics rushed the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at 3 p.m. His slaying happened within minutes of an apparent murder-suicide in the city’s Logan section, bringing the year’s homicide count to 30 in 25 days.

A 21-year-old man was shot twice on Union Street near Aspen in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia Tuseday night, and was hospitalized in stable condition, police said.

The man was shot once in his right leg and once in the right side of his abdomen just after 10 p.m., police said.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was listed in stable condition as of 11 p.m.

A 43-year-old man who was shot and killed on Tacoma Street near Seymour in Germantown Tuesday afternoon was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital about 6:45 p.m., homicide detectives said.

Shots rang out around 4:12 p.m., police said, and homicide detectives were working last night to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.

A 28-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in his left leg on Frankford Avenue near Welsh Road in Holmesburg, police said.

The shooting happened around 5 p.m. in front of a Dollar Tree store, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Rite Aid and the Citizens Crime Commission are offering a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who robbed a Rite Aid on Washington Lane near Crittenden Street Saturday night.

The man walked into the store about 8:20 p.m., pulled a handgun on a clerk and demanded cash and cigarettes, police said.

The clerk filled a bag with cigarettes, but was unable to open the register, police said.

A 21-year-old man who was shot in his mouth around 8:15 p.m. on Bambrey Street near 25th was taken to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead about 9:50 p.m., police said.

Initial reports from police indicated that the North Philadelphia shooting was a suicide.

However, police Monday night did not find a gun on the scene, and said they were looking for a woman who was seen leaving the house shortly after the unidentified man was shot.

One man is dead and a 17-year-old boy is recovering from a bullet wound to his left thigh after a double shooting in East Germantown Monday night.

Shots rang out about 8:20 p.m. on 21st Street near  Medary Avenue, police said.

A man, whom police only identified as a black man in his 20s, was shot twice in his stomach and once in his chest, said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman.

A 33-year-old woman was shot dead inside the Caribe store on the corner of Westmoreland and Mutter Street in North Philadelphia Monday night, police said.

The woman, who was a store employee, was shot four times in her chest and torso around 7:45 p.m., said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman.
