A 21-year-old man who attempted to rob someone in North Philadelphia today accidentally shot himself and wound up in the hospital, cops said.

A 21-year-old man who attempted to rob someone in North Philadelphia today accidentally shot himself and wound up in the hospital, cops said. The man attempted to rob an unidentified 57-year-old man at about 11:30 this morning on Lehigh Avenue near 29th Street but ran away empty handed and accidentally shot himself, cops said. Police caught him around the corner suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
