A 25-year-old woman who was shot in the face this morning in West Oak Lane may have been the victim of a robbery, police said.

A 25-year-old woman who was shot in the face this morning in West Oak Lane may have been the victim of a robbery, police said.

The woman was on Rugby Street near Mohican around 8:05 a.m. when she was shot. A police spokeswoman said preliminary reports indicate the shooter may have been trying to rob the woman.

The victim was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where she is listed in critical but stable condition right now.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call the Philadelphia Police Department's tip line at 215-686-8477.
