Police are searching for a woman who was recorded on surveillance video robbing a Rite Aid in Kensington on Aug. 23.

The woman walked into the store on Allegheny Avenue near Amber around 2:13 p.m., said she had a gun and demanded money.  She fled the scene with $160 in cash and a pack of cigarettes, police said. The woman sped away in a newer model white or grey SUV.

The robber is described as a black woman in her mid-40s to early 50s who weighs about 220 pounds, police said. She is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and was last seen heading east Allegheny Avenue.
