Woman, 55, robbed of $20k in Port Richmond
A woman was robbed of $20,000 in cash Friday night while she was trying to make a deposit at a bank in Port Richmond Friday night, police said.
Around 9:20 p.m., a 55-year-old woman was making a night deposit at a Beneficial Bank branch on Aramingo Avenue near Thompson Street when a man approached from behind, police said. The man grabbed the money, which was in a deposit bag, and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the East Detective Division, headquartered on Whitaker Avenue between Erie and Luzerne Street, and was being interviewed at 10:20 p.m.
A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.

Check her house. What kind of idiot has 20k a free dark in that area. jaymed1998- The article doesn't say but i'd assume it was a night deposit was being made for a business of some sort. But in any case a BAD idea to be making any cash deposit (let a lone a $20,000 one) at night time in the city of Philadelphia.

@kennedy2: According to 6abc.com, she's a CVS employee. I thought most of those places have a security guard. I also wonder if a manager can call the police to have someone watch them make the deposit. TyroneShoes
