Wallet wrangler wanted in Philly, Radnor, West Whiteland

Police are seeking a West Philadelphia man they say has secretly raided the handbags of unsuspecting women at several Wayne and West Whiteland Township bars and eateries.

Police are seeking a West Philadelphia man they say has secretly raided the handbags of unsuspecting women at several Wayne and West Whiteland Township bars and eateries.

Daniel Simmons, 48, then used credit cards pilfered from purses to go on several shopping sprees, said Radnor Police Superintendent William A. Colarulo. Simmons, who uses the alias Daniel Dudley, also is wanted in Philadelphia on an outstanding warrant for armed robbery. Simmons, of Haverford Avenue near 55th Street, has been charged with identity theft, receiving stolen property, forgery and related offenses.

Police urge anyone who knows Simmons' whereabouts to call 911.
