Video: Help cops catch thugs who robbed boy, 13, on his way to school
A 13-year-old boy was on his way to school in North Philadelphia one morning last month when two thugs approached him, threatened him and robbed him, police said. Now, cops are seeking the public's help to catch the cowardly thugs who targeted the teen.
A 13-year-old boy was on his way to school in North Philadelphia one morning last month when two thugs approached him, threatened him and robbed him, police said. Now, cops are seeking the public's help to catch the cowardly thugs who targeted the teen.
The student was walking on Girard Avenue near 13th Street around 7:45 a.m. Jan. 22 when the two robbers approached him, police said. One demanded, "Give me your cell phone or I'm going to f--- you up," and the second demanded that the young victim give him cash.
The teen gave up his cellphone and SEPTA TransPass, and the robbers ran west on Girard Avenue, police said. The robbery was captured on surveillance camera, and police released the footage on Friday in hopes that someone will recognize and dime out the robbers.
The first is described as black, 5 feet 10, 170 pounds with a mustache. He wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, cargo pants and was carrying a backpack. The second is described as black, 5 feet 10, 165 pounds with dreadlocks. He wore dark Puma hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and red and white earphones.
