Upper Darby man arrested for killing West Philadelphia man during robbery

Today, police announced the arrest of a 20-year-old Upper Darby man who they said allegedly killed a man in a robbery on Parkside Avenue near 51st Street in West Philadelphia on November 14.

Hassan Wilkins, of the unit block of Township Line Road in Upper Darby was arrested Tuesday and charged with the murder of Derrick Vaughn, 40, cops said. Wilkins allegedly tried to rob Vaughn in the early morning hours of Nov. 14 as he sat on his front porch and in the course of the robbery, Vaughn was shot.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he died from his injuries on Monday, cops said.
