Police early Tuesday morning arrested a second man for the stabbing of a taxi driver in Queen Village overnight Monday.

Alejandro Gonzalez, 22, was arrested at his residence on 9th Street near Washington Avenue in South Philly, around 1:15 Tuesday morning, police said. Gonzalez and Luis Moreno, 21, of the same block, are accused of stabbing a 37-year-old cabdriver 11 times and robbing him of $205 after the driver dropped them off on Front Street near Christian shortly after 1 a.m. Monday. Moreno was arrested shortly after the stabbing at 4th and Federal streets, police said.

Both men face charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and robbery.

Police said the cabdriver suffered superficial stab wounds throughout his head, left arm, chest, right hand and neck and was admitted to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

According to court records, Moreno's bail has been set at $100,000. He's scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing Sept. 17.
