Two Bensalem men jailed on kidnapping charges

Two Bensalem men face eight criminal charges each – including kidnapping and false imprisonment – for allegedly abducting a 21-year-old woman after asking her to help them transact a drug deal early Monday morning.

Corey Todd, 22, and Vince Burton, 23, called the woman asking for contact information for a drug dealer, police said.

Soon afterward, the men found her walking along Station Avenue near Route 13. Police said Todd — who was driving a car — forced the woman into the back seat, where Burton was sitting. Police said Burton was dressed in black, wore a black mask and held an assault rifle.

While Todd drove, police said, the woman sent a text message to her boyfriend, who called police. It was unclear Monday where the men were taking her.

Around 1:10 a.m., police found Todd, Burton and the uninjured woman near Hollandale Road and Fredonia Place.

Police were unsure Monday why the men kidnapped her, but said they likely intended to rob the drug dealer and possibly harm the woman.

Police removed an assault rifle, a black mask and an Army helmet from the car, and the men were taken to the Bucks County prison on $150,000 bail each.

Todd and Burton are scheduled to appear in court Oct. 25, according to court documents.
