Police are searching for three men who stormed into the Luck Sue Deli in South Philadelphia, pointed an assault rifle at the clerk and robbed the store on March 1.

The suspects rushed into the deli on 24th Street near Tasker about 10:10 p.m., and the man who was holding an assault rifle ran up to the clerk's window. Another suspect stood guard near the door, and the third suspect climbed over a shelf.

Surveillance footage shows the third suspect trying to open the cash register while his accomplices stood by. He was unable to open the register, and snatched boxes of cigars from the clerk's window before the trio fled on foot.

Police are asking for help from the public to identify the men.

The suspects are described as three black men in their late teens to early 20s, who were between 5-feet-7 and 5-feet-9 inches tall. They were all wearing black hooded sweaters, and the rifle-toting suspect had a scarf covering his face.

Police said they were last seen running north on 24th Street.

Tipsters are asked to call the Philadelphia Police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
