For almost eight hours, a little boy has been lost and no one has called to claim him, according to police.

Around 9 a.m., officers on patrol on Bridge Street near Darrah in the city's Frankford section found a 3-year-old boy wandering on the sidewalk alone, police said.

Authorities searched the neighborhood, trying to find the child's family but had no luck. He was brought in to the Special Victims Unit before being turned over to the Department of Human Services, police said.

The boy told authorities his name was Mark, police said. He is a medium-complexioned black or hispanic male and was well dressed when he was found, police said. The only thing he was missing was a coat. He is 38 pounds and 42 inches and was wearing a red-white-and-blue polo shirt with stripes, dark gray shorts and white-and-black sneakers.

Nobody has yet called police worried about a missing child, a detective said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251
