Three wounded in two separate shootings early Sunday

Three people, including a 16-year-old boy, were wounded in two separate shootings early Sunday, police said.

The first shooting happened at 12:07 a.m. on Blakemore Street near Woodlawn Avenue in East Germantown. Officers responded and found a 16-year-old boy lying on the floor of the North Garden Chinese take-out store with gunshot wounds to the back, abdomen and right leg.

Police said the boy was semi-conscious and taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

Police said the boy ran into the store after being shot, but it is unclear exactly where the shooting took place.

Then, at 1:20 p.m., police responded to a double shooting on Cresson Street near Pretzel Park. Officers found a 35-year-old man shot three times in the chest and a 36-year-old man shot once in the left arm and hand. The younger victim was taken to Roxborough Hospital and later transferred to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. The second male was taken to Temple in stable condition.

The second victim told police he was coming from the Grape Room on Grape Street with the first victim and others when they were shot by a black male wearing a red sweatshirt for unknown reasons.

No arrests have been reported in either shooting.
