South Philly armed robbery suspect sought by police
Police are asking for help from the public to arrest a man who robbed a South Philadelphia convenience store at gunpoint Sunday evening.
A man walked into the Double-O-Seven store on 7th Street near Oregon Avenue around 6:40 p.m., grabbed a bag of chips and walked up to the counter, police said.
As the clerk opened the register, the man pulled a gun from his pants pocket and demanded cash from the drawer.
The clerk handed the suspect $225 in cash, and the man left the store. Police said he was last seen running north on 7th Street.
A surveillance camera recorded the incident, and police posted it online in hopes of identifying the man.
The suspect is described as a white man with blond hair and blue eyes. Police said the man is in his 30s, has a medium build and it 6 feet 2 inches tall.
He was wearing a gray hooded sweater, blue jeans and a black cloth over his face.
