Police are asking the public's help to identify two gunmen who robbed a Germantown bank yesterday afternoon.

The shotgun-toting, masked robbers entered the Sovereign Bank at 8623 Germantown Ave. about 1 p.m., police said. One robber ordered the employees to hit the floor, while his accomplice leaped over the counter and demanded money. The robbers escaped with $32,000 in a bag and fled through a back door into the rear parking lot, where they hopped into a silver Pontiac Grand Am and took off.

The suspects are described as black men between the ages of 25 and 27. One wore a red Phillies cap, black shirt, tan pants and mask. The other wore a black baseball cap, black clothing. They should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about their whereabouts can call the FBI's Philadelphia office at (215) 418-4000 or Northwest Detectives at (215) 686-3353/3354 (Det. Pugliese).
