A school bus collided with a delivery truck in East Germantown this morning, and paramedics took 12 people to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.

The wreck happened just after 8 a.m. this morning at Washington Lane and Ardleigh Street, said Officer Christine O'Brien, a police spokeswoman. Eleven special-needs children, ages 6 to 12, were on the bus, O'Brien said. Paramedics took eight of them, two bus aides and the bus driver to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment or precautionary evaluation, O'Brien said. A passenger in the delivery truck suffered several broken ribs and also was taken to Einstein for treatment.

Police released no information about which driver caused the accident, nor whether charges will be filed.
