Police have arrested a Southwest Philadelphia man for a January gun slaying.

Police have arrested a Southwest Philadelphia man for a January gun slaying.

Donald Nobles,24, of Grays Avenue near 62nd Street, was charged with murder and related offenses for shooting Benjamin Collier, 24, on Jan. 17 near his home on 61st Street near Buist Avenue, said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman.

Nobles also is charged with intimidating a witness and making terroristic threats on Jan. 17, but it's unclear how those charges relate to the murder case. Russell had no further details nor information about a motive. Tasha Jamerson, a spokeswoman for the District Attorney's Office, declined to comment, saying: "This is an ongoing investigation, and the only thing I can confirm right now are the charges."

Nobles is being held without bail. He faces a March 26 preliminary hearing. Court records show both men had prior drug arrests, and Collier was on probation for a 2013 burglary at the time of his death.
