Robbery, abduction in Overbrook

Four men in a purple car pulled off a repair shop robbery in Overbrook Thursday and abducted the shop's owner in broad daylight, police said.

The foursome, who all were in their 20s, drove into K and Andrews Auto repair shop, on Lancaster Avenue near 60th Street, and asked about the vehicle's transmission, said Lt. John Walker with Southwest Detectives.

When the shop's owner offered up a price, the men began to argue and two of the males pulled out guns. While two other men stood guard outside the repair shop, the men with guns tied up an employee and the owner inside the business office and grabbed $800 from the owner, Walker said.

They tied up another two employees in the repair shop and kidnapped the owner, in the belief he had more money. They dropped him off unharmed less than an hour later at 59th and Cobbs Creek Parkway after they failed to get more money from him, Walker said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 215-686-3183.
