Police have charged a Pottstown man with aggravated assault after two police officers shot him when he allegedly pointed a gun at them outside a store in Kensington last night.

Steven Geser, 27, remained in critical condition today at Temple University Hospital after the 8 p.m. incident at B and Ontario streets, police said. Geser allegedly pointed the gun at several civilians in the area too, police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore said. The officers shot him in the abdomen when he allegedly pointed his gun at them, Vanore said. The officers were placed on desk duty, as is routine, pending the investigation's outcome.
