Police seek suspects in North Philly gun slaying

Police are seeking suspects in an overnight shooting that left a North Philadelphia man dead.

Jerome Daughtry, 20, of 16th Street near Cumberland, was shot multiple times just after 11 p.m. on his block, said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman. Doctors declared him dead 20 minutes later at Temple University Hospital, Russell said. Police reported no suspects or motives. Tipsters can call homicide detectives at (215) 686-3334 or -3335.

At the time of his death, Daughtry was on probation after getting convicted in January of carrying a firearm without a license, according to court records. He also was arrested for several drug offenses in February, but was found not guilty of marijuana possession and manufacturing with intent to deliver earlier this month, records show.
