Police seek help tracking down Olney burglar

Police are seeking the public's help to find a man who allegedly smashed the door of an Olney food market and stole items Friday morning.

Police are seeking the public's help to track down a man they say broke into an Olney food market and stole $300 worth of cigarettes, milk and cereal early Friday morning.

Surveillance video of the incident released Sunday shows the suspect throwing a large object through the glass door of Penn's Food Market, at Rising Sun Avenue and Tabor Road, just before 3 a.m. Friday, then going inside and taking several items.

The suspect is described as a white man with dark hair and a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and carrying a dark-colored backpack with an image of a bat on it, police said.

Tipsters should contact the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353.
