Police are asking for help from the public to find a man who is wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Fox Chase on Saturday.

Around 10:30 a.m., a man walked into Vist Financial on Verree Road near Rhawn Street with a note demanding money, police said.

The man walked behind the teller station with the bank manager and demanded money from two drawers and the bank’s vault.

The man ran from the bank carrying about $12,500 in cash and was last seen running north on Verree Road, then west on Stanwood Street, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, between 25 and 30-years-old. He is between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-10 inches tall, has a dark complexion, freckles on his face.

The man was wearing a black Phillies baseball cap and a dark gray button down shirt at the time of the robbery police said.

Tipsters are encouraged to call 215-686-TIPS with information on the suspect, or leave an anonymous tip online.

Check for unusual purchases of grape soda and bar-b-que cheese curls. The perp will not be far away.

Its like a plague infecting the city. :\ Here's something to think about. Why do the tax-consumers have better police protection than the tax-payers? They've been sending the police assigned to the NE out into the ghetto areas for years now.

Fox Chase is still a very nice neighborhood. This is an unusual incident for this area. This bank could've been in the suburbs and been robbed.
