Police search for missing elderly woman

Police in Bensalem are searching for an elderly woman who has been missing since leaving a party Thursday night.

Police in Bensalem are searching for an elderly woman who has been missing since leaving a party Wednesday night.

Jean Carson, 73, left a home on Haunted Lane near Bristol Pike about 10 p.m. and hasn't been seen since, police said. The home backs up to the Neshaminy Creek, so police now are searching the creek, the surrounding woods and the Delaware River, where the creek empties. Emergency workers from Bensalem, Croydon and Philadelphia are participating in the search; a Philly police helicopter also surveyed the scene from the skies.

"Carson was reported to be in good health and does not suffer from any preexisting medical or mental issues," said Sgt. Andrew Aninsman of Bensalem's special victims unit.

She is described as 5-foot-3, 120 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue and white shirt, dark pants and high heels. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call Bensalem police at (215) 633-3700.
