Police have released a composite sketch of a man wanted for threatening a woman at gunpoint in East Germantown last week.

Police have released a composite sketch of a man wanted for threatening a woman at gunpoint in East Germantown last week.

The 31-year-old victim was in her car on Conlyn Street near Kemble Avenue shortly before 8 o'clock Thursday morning when investigators say the man got into the car with her and brandished a chrome handgun, ordering her to drive. The victim pulled off, and the man told her that he intended to rape her and pulled at her clothing, police said.

A few blocks away, at the intersection of Chew and Chelten avenues, the woman crashed the car and fled her attacker, running to a stopped SEPTA bus for help, police said. She was not physically harmed in the incident.

Her attacker is described as a black man between 19 and 22 years old, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10 and 150 to 170 pounds with a light complexion, thin build and short black hair. He wore a black or dark gray hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.

Tipsters should contact the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251, -3252 or -3253.
