Police are seeking suspects in two weekend homicides.

In the first, someone shot Malik James Reed, 21, of Allegheny Avenue near Hunting Park, on 33rd Street near Clearfield in North Philadelphia just before 8 p.m. Friday, said police spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little. Reed had been shot multiple times in the torso and legs; he died from his injuries at 8:12 p.m. at Temple University Hospital, Little said. Reed has multiple prior arrests for gun offenses, court records show.

Just before 11 p.m. Sunday,  police responding to a report of a person with a gun found a 25-year-old man, shot in the head, lying on the dining room floor of a home on Price Street near Chew Avenue in East Germantown. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene at 11:26 p.m. His name is being withheld until police notify his family.

Police reported no suspects or motive in either case. Tipsters are urged to call homicide detectives at (215) 686-3334 or -3335.
