Police officer hospitalized after car accident in Crescentville

A police officer was hospitalized with minor injuries after a patrol car he was riding in was rear ended on Tabor Road near Adams Avenue in Crescentville Tuesday night, police said.

The patrol car was stopped when it was rear ended, and police said the cruiser only sustained minor damage.

The injured officer was riding as a passenger and was taken by medics to Jeanes Hospital, police said.

He was complaining of back pain and was expected to be treated and released. No other injuries were reported

The vehicle that hit the patrol car remained on the scene as police investigated the cause of the accident.
