Police investigating suspicious device at IRS office

Police Thursday night were investigating a suspicious package that was scanned in an X-ray machine at the IRS office on Market Street near the 30th Street Station.

The device consists of batteries, exposed wires and an orange powder, police said.

Officials were dispatched to the building around 6:20 p.m., and police said the bomb squad was investigating the device.
