Police investigating shootings in Feltonville, West Philadelphia

Police were investigating shootings in Feltonville and West Philadelphia that left two men hospitalized Wednesday evening.

A 57-year-old man was shot once in his left calf on 4th Street between Wingohocking Street and Cayuga about 3:30 p.m., police said. The suspect may have fled the scene in a silver Acura. Information on the model of the car and a detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said. Cops were working to determine what led up to the shooting Wednesday evening.

A 28-year-old man was shot in his left calf on Ithan Street near Arch h in West Philadelphia. Medics took the victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The man was listed in stable condition as of 6:15 p.m., police said.

A person of interest in that shooting was taken in for questioning about four blocks away on Ludlow Street near 55th, police said. Cops were searching for a second suspect in connection with the incident Wednesday evening.  

That shooting occured about three blocks from the intersection of 56th and Appletree, where a man was shot by police early Wednesday morning.
