Police have identified a man shot to death in South Philadelphia late Thursday night as Carl Joseph Burgess, of the same neighborhood where he was killed.
Burgess, who lived on the block of Ringgold Street near Tasker where police say he was shot several times in the stomach and buttocks around 10:40 p.m., was 35 years old. He was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 11:06 p.m.
A second victim in the shooting, a 22-year-old man who was wounded in the buttocks, is still at HUP, in critical condition, police said.
Police have not reported any suspects in the shooting, and it remains under investigation.
