Police arrest Pathmark attackers

POSTED: Thursday, October 4, 2012, 10:09 AM

Police have arrested three Feltonville teenagers who allegedly beat and robbed a man in the Franklin Mills Pathmark Saturday night.

Tomas Eanes, 18, and Jose Ruiz and Kevin Tavarez, both 17, are charged with robbery, aggravated assault, conspiracy and related offenses in the attack in the store's frozen food aisle. Tavarez and Eanes are charged as adults and will be arraiged later today.

Store surveillance video shows the trio and an unidentified female approaching and encircling a 47-year-old shopper, who manuevered his shopping cart to protect himself. But one teen hit him with a bottle, and the others beat him when he fell and stole $100 from him, police said. They fled in a Chevrolet Aveo. One of the teens also shot video of the attack and posted it on YouTube.

The pictures of these individuals should be entered in the dictionary next to the word "idiocy". A picture is worth a thousand words.

In a way one is. Kashmoneyac aka Tavarez can be seen on the cached Keek.com page of his with his mug and a cap emblazoned with the word "DOPE." His "cred" rating was "0." Not everyday you get to snitch on your young thug friends inadvertent-like. As the past week has shown all too well, video is a powerful tool for bringing down violent thugs be they in the Pathmark, Chester, or a parade in Philly. It lets people see violent thugs for exactly what they are and allows them alot less room for verbal BS excuses for their actions.

When this story originally ran there was complete descriptions of each of the individuals printed, but when other crimes occur there is no description printed even when there is footage of the crime or the cops know who they are. Why is that?

At least they had the good sense to post it on Facebook so they could be found and arrested
