Police: Woman, teen boy injured in Kensington shooting

A woman and a teenage boy were wounded in a broad-daylight shooting in the heart of Kensington Wednesday afternoon.

Police said gunfire erupted at E Street and Allegheny Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. A 35-year-old woman was shot through her right thigh and into her buttocks, investigators said, and a 15-year-old boy was wounded in the ankle.

The woman was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, police said. The teen was taken by medics to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, but police radio reports indicated that cops were looking for two men wearing green shirts who were seen leaving the area around the time of the shooting and may be connected.
