A SEPTA bus driver suffered a minor head injury when a passenger assaulted him along his route Monday night, police said.

Officers were called to Frankford Transportation Center, at Frankford Avenue and Bridge Street, shortly before 9 p.m. for the report of an assault on the driver of the Route 14 bus, police said. When they arrived, they found the driver suffering a minor head injury that he told officers he sustained during his route, which runs from Oxford Valley and Neshaminy Mall down Roosevelt Boulevard and ends at the transportation center.

It was unclear Monday night where along the route the assault happened, but initial police radio reports described the attacker as a teenage boy between 15 and 18 who wore a white T-shirt and white football pants. The teen police were looking for was last seen northbound on foot from the terminal.

The incident remained under investigation Monday night.
