Police: Missing man's body found in Schuylkill

The months-long search for Gregorio Andino ended tragically last weekend, authorities said today.

Andino, 38, was pulled from the Schuylkill near the Walnut Street bridge Saturday morning, police spokeswoman Officer Jillian Russell said.

His body was recovered by Marine Unit officers after they spotted it just after 10 a.m., Russell said.

He had been missing since Feb. 3, when his car was found crashed on Interstate 76 near 30th Street station, his family told the Daily News.

Andino's brother Steven said at the time that the "family has been everywhere" looking for Gregorio, whom they referred to by his nickname, "Reliquia", Spanish for "relic."

The circumstances surrounding his death aren't clear, according to Health Department spokesman Jeff Moran. Further tests are being conducted.
