Man shot in chest in Harrowgate after argument
A 36-year-old man was in critical condition after police say he was shot twice in the chest following a fight with his girlfriend in Harrowgate Tuesday night.
Police said the victim and his 39-year-old girlfriend were fighting inside a house on Schiller Street near H around 9 p.m. when a third person – possibly the girlfriend’s son – got involved and shot him. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and remained in critical condition late Tuesday.
The son of the man’s girlfriend was stopped nearby and taken to the East Detective Division to speak with detectives. Police said they did not make an official determination about whether he was the shooter Tuesday night.
- Where the hell is Harrowgate?
you said it rick james. this is a new trend here. i remember seeing some made up neighborhood name the other day too. eaglesfillthesky
I and Tioga is the location of Harrowgate Plaza. I guess Harrowgate could be described as the location between Juniata and Kensington. philaresident
No Eaglesfill the sky,
Harrowgate is certainly not a recently made up neighborhood. It has been around and called that in excess of 50 years that I know of. Probably, longer than that! I am not from around there but am relatively familiar with it. Its been there awhile. philaresident- One of the best known Philly string bands is "Harrowgate"...
I can only speculate that the shooting was over some debate point the couple disagreed on while watching the presidential debate. From what I learned, the victim (boyfriend) was an advocate of government paid for "Little Debbies" (on demand, no less) and while the girlfriend wanted "Ring-a-Dings" The son came down on the side of "Ring-a-Dings"...and would not tolerate a contrary view...thus, he shot the poor bast***. That's how differences are settled in the hood. That's how they roll. - Pres. Obama said last night that he will curb violence in the inner city by making schools better. Ask that woman what she thinks of that. DonQ
