Police: Man killed in Germantown

This post has been updated.

A 26-year-old man is dead, police say, after being shot multiple times tonight.

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. on Musgrave Street near Washington Lane in Germantown, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Officers responding to reports of gunfire found Delvin Brown collapsed in front of a home on the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen. Brown was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:12 p.m., Small said.

At the scene, police found a minor car collision: Apparently, during the shootout, a bullet struck an uninvolved vehicle as it drove past the scene. The driver, who was uninjured, lost control and crashed into a parked car.

That driver was among several witnesses taken to the Homicide Unit for questioning, Small said.

A minor amount of marijuana was found at the scene, indicating a possible drug connection. An investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
