Police ID victims of weekend violence

Seven people have been killed so far in 2014, according to police statistics.

Five of those victims were killed over the weekend. No arrests have been made in any of these cases, and they're all open investigations, police said:

Howard Street near York, North Philadelphia

Leocadio Del-Orbe, 60, was stabbed to death early Friday, police said.

Medics responding to an emergency call directed officers to a black Toyota at the scene, where they found Del-Orbe with multiple stab wounds to his neck and torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene about 7:32 a.m.

Franklin Street near Rockland

The West Philadelphia man found dead on a porch in Olney has been identified, police said.

Officers discovered Le'Quan Green, 22, lying outside the home about 3:39 p.m. Saturday. He had been shot at least twice in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

Marshall Street near Grange Avenue

Police said Tyrell Jones, 27, was shot dead early Sunday on an Olney sidewalk.

Jones had been shot once in the left side of his chest and was unresponsive when officers found him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Media Street near 62nd

The two people killed in a triple shooting in West Philadelphia have been identified as Karon Bailey, 24, and Basir Amaker, 24, police said.

Bailey, Amaker and an unidentified third male, 22, were sitting in a car on Media Street about 8:04 p.m. Sunday when someone opened fire on them.

Bailey was shot at least twice in his head and body, and Amaker was shot at least twice in his chest. Both were pronounced dead at Lakenau Medical Center.

The third victim, also taken to Lakenau, was in stable condition today.
