Police are searching for a man who robbed two banks between June 6 and 11 in East Germantown and Hunting Park.

In Monday’s robbery, a man walked into a Citizens Bank branch on Germantown Avenue near Airdrie Street around 4 p.m. and slipped a teller a threatening demand note, police said.

He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. After reviewing surveillance footage, police determined that the same man is wanted for robbing a Citizens Bank branch on Stenton Avenue near East Washington Lane on June 6.

The robber is described as a stocky, dark skinned black man who is between 20 and 30 years old. The man is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, has a scruffy mustache and a goatee. He was wearing a white v-neck t-shirt and a New York Yankees baseball cap, police said.

Tipsters are asked to call the FBI violent crimes task force at 215-418-4000, or the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477). Tipsters may also reach the department online.
