Police, FBI searching for North Philadelphia bank robber

A man walked into the United Bank of Philadelphia on Broad Street near Oxford Friday afternoon, slid  a threatening demand note to a teller and walked out with about $2,000 in cash, police said.

The North Philadelphia bank was robbed around 12:10 p.m. and authorities said there was no dye pack or tracking device attached to the money the man ran off with.

The robber is described as an older black man who is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 250 pounds and was wearing glasses and a blue polo shirt.

He was last seen running south on Broad Street then eastbound on Jefferson Street, police said.
