A 41-year-old man died late Wednesday night after he was stabbed in the chest in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

A 41-year-old man died late Wednesday night after he was stabbed in the chest in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

The man was attacked at 62nd Street and Woodland Avenue at 11:05 p.m. and stabbed once in the chest, according to investigators. He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania by police, but doctors were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead at 11:28 p.m.

As of early Thursday, police were still investigating the slaying, and no arrests had been made. The victim remained unidentified Thursday, pending family notification.
