Philly cops nab a suspect, seek more, in two unrelated murders

A North Philadelphia man gunned down outside a Chinese takeout has succumbed to his injuries.

James K. Sanders, 29, of Berks Street near 27th, died at Hahnemann University Hospital about 1:30 p.m. yesterday after someone shot him in the left eye and right knee outside the Happy Garden eatery at 27th and Eyre streets at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Police reported no suspects or motive. Tipsters can call homicide detectives at (215) 686-3334.

In another recent case, homicide detectives collared a suspect in the July 14 shooting in Logan that left a local music DJ dead.

Police charged Kevin White, 21, of Lambert Street near Stenton Avenue in West Oak Lane, with murder and related charges. White was allegedly one of two men who tried to rob guests at a house party on Camac Street near Rockland. The armed duo shot through the door when they were denied entry, and three party-goers, including Rendell Miller, were hit. Miller, 41, died Monday at Albert Einstein Medical Center.  Miller was a longtime DJ known as "Randy Flash" who also worked at the Sound of Market, a record store at 11th and Ludlow streets.
