One killed in Northeast Philly car crash

A woman is dead following a fatal car accident on Woodhaven Road in Northeast Philadelphia early Sunday, police said.

A woman was killed in a one-car accident early Sunday on Woodhaven Road in Northeast Philadelphia, police said.

Authorities said a 25-year-old woman driving a 2005 Hyundai Tucscon was traveling eastbound on Woodhaven Road near Knights Road and struck the guard rail, flipping the car and going down the embankment.

She was taken to Aria Frankford Hospital and declared dead at 4:54 a.m. Her identity has not been released.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
