Police have charged a North Philadelphia man with murder in the stabbing death of his brother-in-law.

Daniel Tejada, 54, of Howard Street near York, was arrested this morning, said police spokeswoman Officer Christine O'Brien. He is accused of stabbing Leocadio Del Orbe, 60, who lived on the same block, to death sometime early Friday morning. Police at 7:25 a.m. found Del Orbe, dead and bloodied, lying in the front seat of a black Toyota parked on his block.

The motive is listed as unknown, O'Brien said. Del Orbe is from Cotui in the Dominican Republic and worked in mental health at the Children's Crisis Treatment Center, according to his Facebook page.

Tejada is being held without bail pending a Jan. 22 preliminary hearing, according to court records.
