Murder victim in car wreck ID'ed as West Powelton man

Police have identified a murder victim shot in Brewerytown early Saturday as Lamar Brown, 30,of West Powelton.

Brown, of 45th Street near Brown, was found in the driver's seat of a wrecked car on 33rd Street near Master about 2:15 a.m. Saturday by police responding to a report of a car accident. He had a neck wound that Hahnemann University Hospital doctors determined was caused by gunfire, turning the car-wreck investigation into a murder probe. Brown died at Hahnemann at 2:45 a.m.
