Man found dead inside vacant house in Elmwood

The body of a man who had been shot to death was found in an abandoned house in Southwest Philadelphia's Elmwood section Thursday, police said.

The unidentified man was found lying in the entrance of the vacant property, on Linmore Avenue near 65th Street, according to a police spokeswoman. He had gunshot wounds to the head, cheek and elbow. Medics pronounced him dead there at 4:46 p.m.

The homicide remains under investigation.
