Cops: Driver arrested after aiming to hit officer

A 20-year-old man was arrested after allegedly trying to hit an officer with his car Monday night.

At 10:46 a.m., police responded to South 24th Street near Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia, where police said the man tried to hit an officer with his car but missed and drove into a police cruiser instead.

Police said the man was arrested and will likely face simple assault, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment charges.
